Nathan Day, Webflow developer in the UK

I'm Nathan. I build Webflow sites from Figma files, and I work on sites that are already live and can't afford to break.

(A Story of 10+ years)

How I build

A site that looks good but doesn't bring in work isn't finished. What the business needs comes first, then it gets to look the part.

Setup before sections. Variables, a style system, components, then the CMS. Front-loading that is what makes the rest of the build fast and the QA rounds short.

Client-First naming throughout, so the class system stays readable for whoever opens the project after me. That matters more on the jobs where I'm the second developer than on the ones I start.

If something won't work, I'd rather say so before it's built than let you find out at QA.

What I'm working on

Ongoing development on Elevate, a UK B2B telecoms site running to over 130 pages with lead capture wired into Salesforce. New sections, CMS architecture, filtering, form and tracking integration, and the diagnostic work that comes with joining a build after launch.

Contract builds for Tahi Studio, a Webflow agency in New Zealand. Learning to hand-code HTML, CSS and JavaScript properly, working backwards from Webflow into the code rather than the other way round.

How I got here

I came into Webflow through a digital marketing bootcamp, and stayed because of the mix. Half the job is technical, half is visual, and most days involve learning something on the way to finishing it. The part I enjoy most is when something that took a week to work out the first time becomes the thing I do without thinking a month later.

Given the choice, I'll take ecommerce builds and sites with a minimal, considered look. Both reward getting the structure right underneath.
