A boutique residential interior design studio site built on restraint. One typeface, a grid-led layout, and space doing the work that decoration usually does.

Marrow Interiors is a high-end residential interior design studio concept. The site is built around a single question: how much can you take away before a page stops working.
One typeface. Generous space. A grid that holds across every page rather than being redrawn per section. Projects run through the CMS, so the portfolio grows by adding an item rather than by building a page.

Early exploration
Restrained design is unforgiving, and the difficulty is structural rather than aesthetic. When there is no decoration to hide behind, every alignment is visible and every inconsistent gap reads as a mistake rather than a choice.
That means spacing cannot be decided section by section. It has to come from a system applied consistently, or the page starts to drift and looks careless rather than calm.

Working through the structure
Spacing runs on a consistent system rather than per-section decisions, which is what holds the alignment together across a site with this little else in it. A single type family carries the whole hierarchy through size and weight, so the pages stay coherent without a second font doing the differentiating.
Project pages are CMS-driven from one template, so a new project is one collection item and it inherits the layout automatically.
